On Friday May 14th, 2021 at 7:30p.m., the men and women of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge’s #36 and #155 will conduct an annual tribute and memorial service to our departed brothers who have given their lives in the line of duty.
Police officers throughout our nation serve with pride and professionalism. When a man or woman dies in the line of duty, it is a sensitive and senseless loss. The South Bend Police Department has lost 15 officers and the St. Joseph County Police Department has lost one officer; but nationally the loss of officers is far greater.
On Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 7:30p.m., we ask that the people of the South Bend community join us as we dedicate prayer and a moment of silence to the officers who have died in the line of duty. The service will be held in front of the South Bend Police Station located at 701 W. Sample Street. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be conducted indoors in the auditorium of the police station. Due to the lingering effects of COVID-19; the memorial service will be live-streamed on the South Bend Police Department’s Facebook page.
We must never forget the dedication and great sacrifice our law enforcement officers make to the community. Therefore, we cordially invite the South Bend and surrounding communities to attend our annual tribute and memorial service by viewing the live-stream video when it is available.
Sign language interpreting services will be provided.
